Renowned author and technology advocate Dr. Asie Kabuki Ocansey—celebrated for her works Decade of Kingdom, African Intelligence, and 25 High-Income Careers in STEM & AI—has called on Africans to actively embrace the ongoing Artificial Intelligence (AI) revolution as a catalyst for transformation and sustainable development across the continent.
Speaking at the 4th International Conference on Information Systems and Emerging Technologies (ICISET-25), themed Emerging Technologies and Industrial Revolution for Sustainable Development, Dr. Ocansey stressed the importance of reshaping Africa’s resources, industries, and cultural values through integrity and innovation.
“The world is evolving rapidly. Africa must not be left behind,” she stated. “We must revolutionize our resources, culture, and systems with honesty and innovation to fully harness the power of emerging technologies.”
During the event, Dr. Ocansey launched her latest publication, which presents strategic approaches for Africans to leverage emerging technologies to stimulate growth, bridge innovation gaps, and create new opportunities across diverse sectors.
She also urged Ghanaians to take pride in locally made fashion, artifacts, and craftsmanship—emphasizing that supporting indigenous industries not only safeguards cultural heritage but also promotes job creation and economic development.
“When we wear African-made clothing and use our own artifacts, we’re not just celebrating our identity—we’re generating employment and strengthening industries that empower artisans and entrepreneurs alike,” she said.
Reaffirming her vision for the continent, Dr. Ocansey expressed her hope for an Africa where every individual’s skill and talent contribute to collective advancement—a continent that not only joins the global technological revolution but leads it with purpose and innovation.
“My dream is to see an Africa where every talent drives meaningful progress for our shared future,” she concluded.
