Domfe and Gyampo settle dispute

- Dr. Domfe and Prof. Gyampo resolve recent misunderstanding
- Both admit their comments and reactions were unfortunate
- They urge supporters not to reignite the dispute
Development Economist Dr. George Domfe says he has settled his recent public disagreement with political scientist and Ghana Shippers Authority CEO, Prof. Ransford Gyampo.
In a Facebook post, Dr. Domfe shared that the two held “a long and cordial telephone conversation” where they addressed the tensions that had built up in the past few days.
According to him, Prof. Gyampo acknowledged that some of his earlier comments were regrettable, especially considering their long-standing personal and professional relationship. Dr. Domfe also admitted that his own reaction was unfortunate, adding that both men apologised for their roles in the misunderstanding.
Their clash reportedly began during a TV3 programme on Saturday, November 15, 2025.
“We have sincerely apologized to each other… and have agreed to put this incident behind us and move forward with renewed respect,” Dr. Domfe wrote.
Both scholars, known for their influence on national policy discussions, emphasized that differences in opinion should not lead to personal attacks.
Dr. Domfe also urged their families, friends, and supporters to respect their reconciliation and avoid reigniting the issue.
In his response, Prof. Gyampo said he had accepted the apology and described Dr. Domfe as his brother.
Their public reconciliation has attracted positive reactions, with many commending it as a display of maturity and leadership amid an increasingly polarized national discourse.
