The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service has arrested Samuel Amoah, also known as Biggie, in connection with the gruesome murder of a woman and her two children at Tuba Net-Link Estates, near Kasoa in the Central Region.
Speaking at a press briefing in Accra on Saturday, CID Director-General COP Lydia Yaako Donkor confirmed that the incident occurred on May 19, 2024, after police responded to a distress call about a violent domestic attack.
Upon arriving at the residence, officers discovered 39-year-old Alberta Hagan and two of her children dead in their bedroom, lying in pools of blood. A third child, though severely injured with deep head wounds and bleeding from the ear, was found alive and rushed to the hospital. A five-month-old baby was also located unharmed on a sofa in the living room.
“Postmortem results confirmed the victims died from severe head injuries consistent with physical assault,” COP Donkor said.
Relationship Dispute Led to Attack
Investigations revealed that Samuel Amoah was in a romantic relationship with Ms. Hagan. However, the relationship had deteriorated due to financial disagreements, which police say ultimately triggered the fatal confrontation.
“In a fit of rage, the suspect assaulted Alberta and attacked the two children who witnessed the incident,” COP Donkor explained.
Amoah fled the crime scene and remained on the run for over a year. Following months of intelligence-led investigations, police apprehended him on September 17, 2025, in Suhum, located in the Eastern Region.
Suspect Confesses, Faces Prosecution
During police interrogation, Amoah confessed to the killings and showed remorse, according to CID officials. He is currently in custody, assisting with further investigations, and will be formally charged with murder and other related offenses.
“The Ghana Police Service is treating this case with urgency and professionalism to ensure justice is served for the victims and their grieving family,” COP Donkor stated.
The late Alberta Hagan and her two children were laid to rest on June 22, 2024.
