The National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has reiterated that the current government will continue taking legal action against corrupt former officials of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to retrieve misappropriated state funds for national progress.
Speaking during his thank-you tour in Nkwanta South in the Oti Region, he stated that President John Dramani Mahama is committed to stabilising the economy and strengthening the cedi. He emphasized that the administration will not hesitate to hold former appointees accountable for corruption.
The Municipal Chief Executive also encouraged chiefs and residents to uphold unity for sustainable development. He appealed for the construction of the Nkwanta–Dadiase and Nkwanta–Kue border roads to improve economic prospects within the area.
“We will recover every stolen cedi from the NPP and reinvest it into the country’s development,” Asiedu Nketia declared.
Addressing concerns from some NDC supporters who feel sidelined after the party’s electoral victory, he urged patience, assuring them that President Mahama is focused on fixing the problems inherited from former President Nana Akufo-Addo and the previous NPP administration.
