Asante Gold Donates Desks to Queens Girls’ SHS

- Asante Gold Bibiani Limited donates 250 desks to Queens Girls’ Senior High School
- The school is the only girls' SHS in the Western North Region
- The initiative aims to reduce classroom congestion and enhance academic performance
As part of its commitment to supporting education in its host communities, Asante Gold Bibiani Limited has donated 250 new desks to Queens Girls’ Senior High School in Sefwi Awhiaso — the only all-girls senior high school in the Western North Region.
The donation aims to enhance the learning environment, contributing to better academic outcomes for students. Emmanuel Aidoo, Community Relations Manager at Asante Gold Bibiani, emphasized that the gesture reflects the company’s broader dedication to improving educational standards in the areas where it operates.
“We understand that proper infrastructure and furniture are essential to fostering a productive learning environment,” Aidoo noted. “These desks will significantly ease classroom overcrowding and support academic excellence.”
Headmistress of Queens Girls’ SHS, Evelyn Doris Acquah, expressed deep appreciation for the donation, describing it as timely and impactful. She highlighted that furniture shortages are a persistent challenge that often hinders both teaching and learning in the region.
“This support has come at a crucial moment. It will allow our students to study in greater comfort and dignity, enhancing both their confidence and academic performance,” she said.
Madam Evelyn also encouraged other corporate bodies and community stakeholders to follow Asante Gold Bibiani’s example by investing in education and contributing to the nation’s human capital development.
The donation ceremony was attended by members of the school’s board, parents, and local residents.
Queens Girls’ Senior High School, a public boarding and day institution, was founded to offer quality education to young women in the region. With rising student enrollment in recent years, the need for additional desks has become increasingly urgent.
This initiative forms part of Asante Gold Bibiani Limited’s broader corporate social responsibility agenda, which focuses on promoting education, healthcare, and economic empowerment within its operational communities.
