Another Fire Hits Kumasi as Anwona Market Suffers Heavy Losses

A fire outbreak tore through the Anwona Market near Afful Nkwanta in the Kumasi Metropolis on Monday evening, leaving several shops severely damaged.

The incident occurred less than 24 hours after a similar fire destroyed properties at a cluster of mechanic workshops at Sofoline.

The blaze reportedly began around 10:00 p.m., engulfing parts of the market. Personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service were swiftly deployed to the scene to contain and extinguish the flames.

Eyewitnesses indicated that the fire originated from the footwear factory section of the market, where highly flammable materials are commonly stored.
