The Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association (GRNMA) has suspended its week-long strike to allow for continued negotiations with the government over the implementation of their Collective Agreement.

The announcement was made by GRNMA President, Perpetual Ofori-Ampofo, on Friday, June 13, 2025, following a meeting with the Parliamentary Select Committee on Health and other key stakeholders held the previous day.

In a statement, the Association described the meeting as productive and encouraging, noting that it laid the groundwork for a peaceful resolution to the ongoing dispute.

“We are grateful to the Chairman, Ranking Member, and members of the Health Committee for their timely intervention and for establishing a clear path forward for the implementation of our Collective Agreement,” the statement said.

The GRNMA leadership also reassured its members that they remain committed to ensuring the full implementation of the agreement and will continue to advocate until all terms are met.
