Elections 2024: Ballot Paper Printing to Commence October 11
The Electoral Commission (EC) of Ghana is gearing up to commence the printing of notices of poll and ballot papers for the upcoming elections. This significant step in the electoral process is set to begin on Friday, October 11, 2024. The EC has made elaborate arrangements to ensure that the printing is done efficiently and accurately at various printing houses across the country.Among the printing houses selected for this crucial task are Secprint Ltd located in New Achimota, Acts Commercials in Odorkor, and the Ghana Publishing Company situated in Accra Central. Each of these facilities is equipped with the necessary resources and technology to handle the printing of the electoral materials with the utmost precision and security.Buck Press, based in Ofankor, is also on the list of printing houses chosen by the EC. Known for its state-of-the art printing capabilities, Buck Press is expected to play a pivotal role in the timely production of the ballot papers. Innolink Limited, situated in the North Industrial Area, is another key player in this process. With its advanced printing infrastructure, Innolink Limited is well prepared to meet the stringent quality standards set by the EC.Additionally, Fonstat Limited, located in the South Industrial Area, and Check Point Limited, also based in the South Industrial Area, have been designated as part of the printing network. These facilities are strategically positioned to ensure a smooth and efficient distribution of the printed materials across various regions. Yasarko Company Limited, in Laterbiokoshie, rounds off the list of printing houses tasked with this important responsibility.Samuel Tettey, the Deputy Chairman in charge of Operations at the EC, emphasized the importance of this phase in the electoral process. In a statement released on Wednesday, October 9, he outlined the meticulous planning and coordination involved in selecting and preparing these printing houses. Tettey highlighted that the printing of notices of poll and ballot papers is a critical step towards ensuring a transparent and credible election. In preparation for the commencement of the printing, the EC has scheduled an orientation session for selected agents. These agents are integral to the oversight and verification process, ensuring that the printing adheres to the highest standards of accuracy and integrity. The orientation will take place on Thursday, October 10, 2024, at 11:00 am at the EC’s Corporate Office.During the orientation, the agents will receive detailed instructions and guidelines on their roles and responsibilities. This will include protocols for monitoring the printing process, verifying the correctness of the ballot papers, and ensuring that all security measures are strictly followed. The EC is committed to maintaining the confidentiality and integrity of the electoral materials throughout the printing and distribution phases. The involvement of multiple printing houses is a strategic move by the EC to distribute the workload and minimize the risk of errors or delays. By leveraging the capabilities of these specialized facilities, the EC aims to achieve a seamless and efficient production process. This approach also allows for greater oversight and control, ensuring that each step of the printing process is meticulously executed. As the printing of notices of poll and ballot papers gets underway, the EC continues to focus on upholding the principles of transparency, accountability, and credibility. The successful completion of this phase will mark a significant milestone in the leadup to the elections, reinforcing the EC’s commitment to delivering a free, fair, and credible electoral process. For those interested in the specifics of the election preparations or who may have additional inquiries, the EC encourages you to refer to their official communications channels. The commitment to clear and open communication remains a cornerstone of their operations as they work towards facilitating a smooth and democratic election.Read Below Statement:
