  • Interest comes amid Mohamed Salah's dip in form and upcoming AFCON absence

Liverpool are reportedly considering a January transfer move for Bournemouth forward Antoine Semenyo, following the Ghanaian international’s impressive start to the Premier League season.

Semenyo has been in outstanding form, netting six goals in eight matches after signing a long-term deal with Bournemouth—despite previous interest from Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United.

According to The i Paper, Liverpool have now joined the list of clubs tracking the 25-year-old, who operates primarily on the right wing. Although their interest is believed to be part of a long-term strategy, uncertainty around Mohamed Salah’s form and availability could accelerate their plans.

Salah, who extended his contract in April after a lengthy negotiation period, has made a slow start to the season, scoring only two goals in nine league appearances. He is also expected to miss part of the campaign due to his participation in the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

With Salah’s likely absence looming, Liverpool are weighing the option of reinforcing their right flank during the January window.

Notably, Semenyo will be available throughout AFCON, as Ghana failed to qualify for the tournament in Morocco—making him an even more attractive short-term option.

His stellar form was recently acknowledged when he was named PFA Player of the Month for October, further enhancing his reputation as one of the Premier League’s most exciting emerging attackers.
