Tasty Tom production resumes after FDA clearance

Nutrifoods Ghana Limited has opened its factory to the public, allowing consumers to tour its production facilities and see the food manufacturing process up close after completing an online registration.

The company explained that this initiative aims to promote transparency and provide consumers with a clearer understanding of how its products are made, strengthening confidence in their safety and quality.

This announcement follows Nutrifoods’ resumption of production and distribution of its Tasty Tom Enriched Tomato Mix, which received clearance from the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) on September 12, 2025. The approval came after a thorough assessment of the company’s operations, confirming that its products meet safety, quality, and compliance standards.

In August 2025, Nutrifoods had voluntarily recalled certain batches of Tasty Tom as a precaution when some products fell short of its internal quality standards.

A company spokesperson emphasized that the recall affected only “specific batches and certain pack sizes” and that not all Tasty Tom products were impacted.

“Our products have always been available on the market, and now with fresh production and FDA clearance, consumers can safely enjoy Tasty Tom in all their dishes,” the representative said.

The spokesperson added that the factory tours will give visitors a chance to see the entire production process—from raw materials to finished products—and to share their experiences.

“We are inviting consumers to our factory so they can witness firsthand how Tasty Tom is made. From now until the first week of January, tours will be conducted every Thursday at 10 a.m.,” the company announced.
