The Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) has carried out a successful early-morning operation in Otinibi, a suburb in the Greater Accra Region, targeting suspected drug hubs and criminal hideouts.
The raid resulted in the arrest of four individuals believed to be connected to drug trafficking and other illegal activities.
According to NACOC, Otinibi had gained a reputation as a hotspot for drug-related activities and brothels, prompting growing concern among local residents and authorities.
During the operation, officers seized large quantities of illegal drugs, including 2 kilograms of cannabis, and 1 kilogram each of hashish, GH Gold, and amnesia—substances known for their widespread abuse in the region.
The confiscated drugs will be subjected to forensic testing, while investigations continue into the larger criminal network believed to be operating in the area.
NACOC stated that the raid is part of its ongoing nationwide crackdown on drug trafficking and substance abuse. The commission also assured the public of intelligence-led operations in other known hotspots and urged citizens to cooperate by reporting suspicious activities.
The four suspects remain in custody and will be formally charged following the conclusion of initial investigations.
