Man Arrested for Alleged Death Threats Against Minority Leader

The Eastern South Regional Police Command has arrested a man, identified as Alhaji Abdul Wahab, following the circulation of a video online in which he is alleged to have issued death threats against the Minority Leader in Parliament, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, along with two others.

In a statement released on Monday, September 15, police confirmed that Wahab was taken into custody in Koforidua.

He has since been cautioned and granted bail as investigations continue.

As part of the ongoing inquiry, Mr. Wahab is expected to report to the Regional Police Headquarters in Kyebi on Monday, September 15, 2025, to assist with the investigation.

The statement, signed by DSP David Fianko-Okyere of the Public Affairs Unit, emphasized that the case will be pursued with fairness and transparency.

The police also assured the public of regular updates as the investigation progresses.
