IGP Promotes 17 Police Officers for Exemplary Service

The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has approved the promotion of 17 police officers, including two senior officers, in recognition of their outstanding conduct and steadfast commitment to duty.

The promotions, announced on January 14, 2026, were granted in acknowledgment of the officers’ exceptional performance, professionalism, discipline, and dedication to operational excellence.

According to the Police Administration, the decision is part of a wider initiative to reward merit, boost morale, and motivate personnel who consistently demonstrate integrity, diligence, and devotion to national service.

Addressing the officers at the promotion ceremony, Mr. Yohuno, alongside members of the Police Management Board (POMAB), congratulated the promotees and urged them to embrace their new ranks with a heightened sense of responsibility and leadership.

He further encouraged all personnel to uphold the core values of the Ghana Police Service and sustain high standards of professionalism in their service to the public.

The Police Service reaffirmed its commitment to recognising hard work and rewarding excellence as essential components of effective policing and enhanced public safety nationwide.
