The Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) has warned the public about a fraudulent SMS circulating on social media, which falsely claims that applicants in the ongoing recruitment exercise have advanced to the next stage and must pay a fee.

In a press release dated December 15, 2025, signed by Deputy Commissioner of Immigration in charge of Public Affairs, Maud Anima Quainoo, GIS described the message as misleading. The Service clarified that neither GIS nor the Ministry of the Interior has announced the start of the next recruitment phase.

The statement emphasized that the application process is still open and will close on the official deadline of December 19, 2025.

GIS urged applicants and the public to ignore the fake messages and avoid engaging with individuals or groups behind the scam. It stressed that all official communications will be sent only via approved SMS alerts, official email addresses, phone numbers, or the C-SERP recruitment portal.

Applicants were further cautioned to be wary of unauthorized “protocol” offers or other inducements linked to the recruitment process.
