Ghana Police Warns Public Against Fake Recruitment Scam

The Ghana Police Service has issued a warning to the public over a fraudulent recruitment scheme being circulated on social media.

In a statement signed by Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Grace Ansah-Akrofi, the Police described the circulating messages as entirely false and urged the public to disregard them.

“The attention of the Ghana Police Service has been drawn to false information circulating on various social media platforms about an ongoing recruitment exercise. The Police Administration wishes to clarify that no such recruitment is taking place,” the statement said.

The Service emphasized that any official recruitment drive will be publicly announced through its verified communication channels, including the official website, accredited social media accounts, and national newspapers.

It further cautioned the public against engaging with individuals or groups claiming to offer recruitment in exchange for money.

“The public is advised to avoid dealings with persons who promise job opportunities within the Service for a fee,” the statement added.

The Police also confirmed that investigations are underway to identify and prosecute those behind the scam.

“We assure the public that these fraudulent activities are being thoroughly investigated, and anyone found involved will be arrested and prosecuted according to the law,” the statement concluded.
