Fatal Dispute Over Cutlass Claims Man’s Life

A fatal altercation in Suibo, Western North Region, resulted in the death of a tenant following a disagreement over a cutlass.
According to Solomon Adukpe, the Assemblyman for the Oparekrom Electoral Area, the victim, Mathew Adu, was involved in an incident with a fellow tenant who had recently moved to the area.
The altercation began when Adu returned from work with a cutlass that originally belonged to the unidentified tenant.
The dispute escalated when the tenant demanded the return of his cutlass, which Adu refused to surrender. During their confrontation, the tenant tried to reclaim the cutlass, leading to a struggle. In the scuffle, Adu accidentally cut the tenant’s palm.
Enraged by the injury and perceiving it as deliberate, the tenant allegedly retaliated by using the cutlass to attack Adu.
Despite being rushed to Dadieso Government Hospital, Adu succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival, and his body has been taken to the Enchi mortuary.
The police have apprehended the suspect, who is currently in custody and aiding the investigation.
