The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) has met with stakeholders in the Ahafo Region to discuss the new vehicle registration system scheduled for implementation in 2026.
During a sensitisation programme in Goaso, the Deputy Chief Executive Officer in charge of Services, Foster Asante Esq., told Adom News that the engagement was meant to educate stakeholders on the procedures and importance of the upcoming system.
He noted that the updated registration framework is intended to improve vehicle security and reduce the increasing number of road-related offences in the country.
Mr. Asante expressed satisfaction with the questions and contributions from participants—which included driver unions, mechanics, and the Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD)—adding that their feedback will help ensure a smooth and widely accepted rollout.
Some stakeholders, such as Asana Marshal and Donkor Emmanuel, told Adom News that the briefing assured them of the system’s advantages. They praised the DVLA and pledged their full support for its implementation.
