  • Initiative aims to improve access and reduce congestion

The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) has rolled out a 24-hour service at its Adenta branch, marking a major step toward enhancing accessibility and efficiency in service delivery.

Announcing the initiative during an interview with Umaru Sanda Amadu on Face to Face on Channel One TV on Tuesday, August 19, DVLA CEO Julius Neequaye Kotey said the extended hours are part of broader reforms to modernize the Authority’s operations.

“At the moment, only the Adenta office is running 24/7,” Mr. Kotey said. “This was the first office I reopened after renovations. You can access all our services there — licensing, vehicle registration, testing, even eye exams — any time, even at 2 a.m. And people are using it. The data shows that there’s nighttime demand.”

He added that the DVLA is monitoring the performance of the Adenta branch and may roll out the 24-hour model to other offices nationwide if it proves effective.
