The Ghana Police Service has successfully recovered a stolen Nissan pickup truck that belonged to Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, the Member of Parliament for Ablekuma West. The vehicle was among several items stolen during a break-in at her office on December 9, 2024, following unrest triggered by the December 7 elections.
At a press briefing held on Thursday, December 12, ACP Grace Ansah-Akrofi, Director of Public Affairs for the Ghana Police Service, confirmed the recovery of the vehicle and provided an update on ongoing efforts to restore order.
“Through an intelligence-led operation, we recovered the stolen vehicle, which is now in the custody of the Dansoman Police. Efforts are ongoing to apprehend the individuals responsible,” she said.
In addition to the recovery, the police also announced the arrest of 17 more individuals in connection with the post-election violence, raising the total number of arrests to 123.
ACP Ansah-Akrofi assured the public of the police force’s unwavering commitment to apprehending those responsible for the unrest and ensuring the peace is maintained across the country.
