In a heartfelt appeal, the Ghana Catholic Bishops’ Conference has called on all political parties to maintain respect and decorum in their campaigns as the December 7 elections approach.
Addressing Ghanaians, the Bishops emphasized the importance of safeguarding peace and stability during the electoral process.
They warned against the use of inflammatory language that could jeopardize the nation’s democratic framework.
“We feel a strong responsibility to remind all involved in this crucial democratic event of our shared duty to uphold a peaceful, transparent, and fair election process,” stated Most Rev. Matthew Kwasi Gyamfi, President of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference.
The Bishops urged political parties to adhere to legal standards and respect democratic values, advocating for campaigns rooted in constructive dialogue and mutual respect. They stressed the need to avoid provocative rhetoric and uphold the laws regulating elections and political behavior.
