Minister for Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, has expressed strong optimism that the Black Stars will deliver an impressive performance at the 2026 World Cup.

Ghana booked their place at next year’s global tournament after topping their qualifying group with 25 points, despite failing to secure a slot in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

Although the team’s group-stage opponents are yet to be announced, Minister Adams maintains that the squad is fully prepared to excel on the world stage.

“We went to previous World Cups to learn, and we have taken those lessons. We are more than ready for next year’s tournament, and we will return with something remarkable,” Adams, who also serves as the MP for Buem Constituency, stated at an event organized by Chinese automaker GWM (Great Wall Motors).

The 2026 edition will be Ghana’s fifth World Cup appearance. The Black Stars will find out their group opponents on December 5. Their best performance remains the 2010 quarterfinal run, though they have not advanced past the group stage since.
