Head coach of Ghana’s national men’s football team, the Black Stars, Otto Addo, has expressed confidence in his team’s ability to overcome Japan.
The Black Stars are set to face Japan in an international friendly on Friday, November 14, at 10:00 GMT, as part of preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Japan heads into the fixture following a 3-2 victory over Brazil, while Ghana will go on to play South Korea on Tuesday, November 18, in another preparatory game.
Speaking ahead of the clash, Otto Addo said, “It will be a tough match for us, but I believe we have the strength to beat Japan. We’ve studied them closely, and it’s going to be a tight contest. We’ll also need to deal with the time difference.”
Ghana’s qualification for next year’s World Cup marks the fifth time in six consecutive tournaments that the Black Stars will feature on football’s biggest stage.
