- Sixteen players participated in the opening session at Aston Villa’s Bodymoor Heath
- Coach Björkegren focused on passing, quick transitions, and early team cohesion
The Black Queens began their training camp in Birmingham on Thursday as they prepare for their high-profile international friendly against England’s Lionesses.
Sixteen players were present on the first day, starting an important training phase under head coach Kim Lars Björkegren.
The team’s opening session took place at Aston Villa’s Bodymoor Heath Training Ground, a top-class facility providing an ideal environment for early drills.
Björkegren led a dynamic session, focusing on sharp passing, quick transitions, and building cohesion among the players already in camp.
Four more players are expected to join later tonight, completing a 20-player squad ahead of Friday’s session.
Ghana will take on the Lionesses on December 2, 2025, at St. Mary’s Stadium in Southampton—a crucial test ahead of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in March 2026.
