Aboabo Number 2 house fire destroys four-bedroom home

- A four-bedroom house was destroyed by fire
- One volunteer suffered electrocution and is recovering
- Family told to stay away pending full inspection
A four-bedroom house at Aboabo Number 2 in the Asokore Mampong Municipality was completely destroyed by fire on Wednesday, November 27, 2025, leaving one person hospitalised.
The fire is said to have started around 6:30 p.m.
Speaking to Citi News, Assembly Member Haruna Abdul Rashid said he was notified by a passerby who reported the incident. He added that community members tried to control the fire, but one volunteer was electrocuted during the effort. The injured individual is currently receiving treatment and is recovering well.
Mr. Rashid also confirmed that the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) swiftly cut power to the affected house to avoid further risks. ECG staff were later seen fixing power lines to restore supply to nearby homes.
He further stated that the affected family has been advised to stay away from the building until a full inspection is completed on Thursday.
