Kotoko maintain title chase despite recent results

Story Highlights
  • Asante Kotoko draw 0-0 with Samartex; sit fourth with 20 points
  • Only one win in last three league matches
  • Home draws are particularly disappointing, says Zito

Asante Kotoko head coach Karim Zito insists their title ambitions remain alive despite securing just one win in their last three Ghana Premier League matches.

The Porcupine Warriors played to a 0-0 draw against Samartex at the Nsenkyire Sports Stadium, leaving them fourth on the table with 20 points—three behind leaders Aduana FC.

“Apart from being first, no position suits Asante Kotoko,” Zito said in a post-match interview.
“We are still chasing, and it is not too late.”

He added, “Drawing at home is the only result that pains me because it means we must win away to balance the home games.”

Kotoko will face Basake Holy Stars on November 26 in a rescheduled match, with a win potentially propelling them to the top of the league.
