Pop icon and entrepreneur Rihanna has confirmed she is expecting her third child, making the announcement in dramatic fashion at the 2025 Met Gala in New York City.
The 37-year-old singer, glowing in a striking ensemble, was seen cradling her baby bump as she arrived on the event’s signature navy carpet adorned with daffodils. Her partner, rapper A$AP Rocky (born Rakim Mayers), accompanied her and thanked well-wishers on the red carpet.
“It’s time to show the world what we’ve been working on,” A$AP Rocky said, confirming the pregnancy with a smile. “We’re definitely happy, and it’s great to see everyone else happy for us.”
The couple, who already share two young sons, are known for their memorable pregnancy reveals. Rihanna announced her first pregnancy in 2022 with a photo shoot in Harlem, and revealed her second child during her Super Bowl halftime performance in 2023.
Rihanna was the final guest to arrive at the Met Gala, which serves as a fundraiser for the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute. This year’s theme, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” marked the first gala since 2003 to focus solely on menswear.
The Met Gala has become a platform for celebrity pregnancy reveals in recent years. In 2023, Serena Williams and Karlie Kloss also used the red carpet to announce their pregnancies.
