Nigerian singer Stanley Omah Didia, popularly known as Omah Lay, has responded to receiving his first-ever Grammy nomination.
According to DAILY POST, Omah Lay earned the nomination through his collaboration with Davido on their hit song “With You”, which has been shortlisted in the Best African Music Performance category at the 68th Grammy Awards.
Reacting on his Instagram page, Omah Lay expressed excitement over the recognition but noted that he is not overly concerned about awards.
“I’m excited about this Grammy nomination haha, but fr fr I don’t give a sh!t about awards. Yeah, but I really want it for OBO! He’s the realest friend I’ve had in a while — he stood by me during my hardest times,” he wrote.
The artist emphasized his wish for Davido to win the award, describing him as a loyal and genuine friend.
Despite being nominated four times in the past, Davido is yet to secure a Grammy win. He has been consistently nominated in the Best African Music Performance category since its introduction in 2023.
The 68th Annual Grammy Awards will take place on February 1, 2026, at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. The ceremony will be broadcast globally on CBS and streamed on Paramount+.
