Ceccy Twum Speaks Out on Sabotage and Favoritism in Gospel Music Industry

Ghanaian gospel star Ceccy Twum has opened up about alleged acts of sabotage and favoritism within the gospel music industry, admitting that behind-the-scenes manipulation does happen.

Speaking on Joy Prime’s “Changes” show, Ceccy revealed that some groups reportedly influence DJs to avoid playing certain artistes’ songs, effectively sidelining them from airplay.

Despite these challenges, the “Me Nyame Aye Awie” hitmaker said she remains unshaken, trusting in God to fight her battles.

“I always remind myself that when I was nobody and God lifted me up, it wasn’t for people to break me. So, whether you sabotage me or not, I don’t care — my God will still fight for me, and you can’t stop that,” she told host Roselyn Felli.

Ceccy explained that some individuals within the industry act as “gatekeepers,” deciding which artistes get airplay and which ones are ignored.

“I heard there’s a group that plans for DJs not to play your songs. They have a platform and certain people who direct DJs on which songs to avoid,” she added.

She emphasized that she remains focused on her ministry and music, undeterred by attempts to block her, firmly believing that God is her defender and source of strength.
