Ghanaian actor Adjetey Anang has expressed his excitement over the progress of theatre development in Ghana, noting that it is fulfilling to see years of hard work beginning to bear fruit.

In an interview with Doreen Avio, the acclaimed actor described the journey as rewarding but highlighted that sustaining the growth of theatre in Ghana will require collective effort.

“It’s a relief because we’ve always hoped for this. We’ve worked tirelessly over the years, and now we are finally seeing results. However, we can’t do it alone. That’s why we rely on partnerships with our audiences who continuously support our projects,” he shared.

Adjetey Anang, known for his unwavering commitment to the creative arts, emphasized the importance of increased involvement from corporate entities and other stakeholders to propel the industry forward.

“We’re reaching out to the corporate sector and all relevant stakeholders to join us. There’s so much we can accomplish together. It’s exciting to know that the next phase will bring even greater things. So, let’s all unite and make this work,” he added.

He also urged his fellow creatives to embrace unity, collaboration, and mutual respect within the industry.

“It starts with us, doesn’t it? How we relate to one another and treat each other with respect is crucial. When we present a united front, the world sees us as one. Even with our differences, we shouldn’t air our disagreements publicly.”

“Let’s stick together and support each other. A united front is vital—once we have that, nothing can break us,” he concluded.

Adjetey Anang made these remarks during the launch of Ghana Must Go, an upcoming theatre production by Latif Abubakar’s Globe Productions.
