Uber Driver Survives Machete Attack

A 30-year-old Uber driver is reported to have survived a machete attack by a passenger who later fled the scene in Barekese, located in the Atwima Nwabiagya North District of the Ashanti Region.
The driver, Kwadwo Antwi, had picked up the passenger at Abrepo Junction in Kumasi and was headed toward Barekese when the attack occurred.
According to the victim’s father, Master Alex, the passenger assaulted his son with a cutlass during the trip.
“Before my son could unfasten his seatbelt and escape, the attacker slashed his hands and thighs,” he explained.
The suspect then pushed Antwi out of the car and drove off with the Toyota Vitz, which bears registration number AS 7104-22.
“Thankfully, my son survived and is receiving treatment. The police have launched an investigation to apprehend the suspect,” the father added.
