Tropo Farms sells out at Channel One TV AgriFair

- Tropo Farms sold all 5 tonnes of tilapia before 5 p.m. on the final day
- Strong public demand left many visitors looking for more fish
- AgriFair 2025 brought farmers, agribusinesses, and consumers together
Tropo Farms, the largest tilapia producer in West Africa, was a major attraction at the second Channel One TV AgriFair, selling out all five tonnes of fresh tilapia before 5 p.m. on the final day of the three-day event.
“It’s been incredible. We sold out before 5 o’clock, and that tells us demand is even higher than we anticipated. People kept coming to our booth and were disappointed to learn the fish was finished. We should have brought more than the five tonnes we planned,” said Rebecca Vormedeanyo, Marketing Representative for Tropo Farms. She added, “Thank you, Channel One TV. These three days have been amazing.”
The AgriFair, held from Friday, November 28 to Sunday, November 30 at Efua Sutherland Children’s Park in Accra, is promoted as “Ghana’s biggest exhibition and sale of fresh farm produce.”
The event gathered farmers, agribusiness companies, agro-processors, financial institutions, and consumers to support food security and boost growth within Ghana’s agricultural sector.
Tropo Farms came well-prepared after also selling out quickly at the maiden edition. They offered fresh tilapia by the crate—each around 25kg and priced at about GHC 1,180—or by kilogram, giving households and retailers direct access to competitively priced, farm-fresh fish.
The farm also operated a grilling station serving tilapia with banku, which drew crowds looking for ready-to-eat meals.
The rapid sell-out at AgriFair 2025 highlights the rising demand for locally farmed tilapia in Ghana and points to opportunities for Tropo Farms and other agribusinesses to scale up their supply in future events.
