Police in Prestea, Western Region, have arrested two individuals suspected to be military personnel and two civilian accomplices for allegedly attempting to rob LongShine Mining Company Limited, a Chinese-owned mine, on Sunday, September 28 at Prestea-Obouhu.
Speaking to Channel One News’ Akwasi Agyei Annim on October 1, the company’s Public Relations Officer, Zion Rootman, confirmed the incident. He said the suspects — two dressed in military uniforms and two masked civilians — arrived at the site in a pickup truck.
Mr. Rootman stated that the company immediately alerted the Prestea Police, who responded swiftly and arrested the suspects during the attempted robbery. They have since been transferred to the Tarkwa Regional Police Command for further investigation.
