Nana Akosua Sakyibea I, Queen Mother of Abotakyi Akuapem, is calling for justice following the brutal killing of her daughter and two grandchildren, which occurred a year ago at Tuba, a suburb of Kasoa.

Her daughter, Alberta Hagan, was murdered along with her two children at Tuba Net-Link Estates. The accused, Samuel Amoah—also known as “Biggie”—is currently facing trial at the Adabraka District Court in connection with the killings.

Amoah has been charged with three counts of murder and one count of attempted murder. While his plea has not yet been taken, he has been remanded into custody and is scheduled to reappear in court on October 13, 2025.

Speaking to journalists outside the courtroom, Nana Sakyibea I firmly denied claims that her daughter had a romantic relationship with the accused. She explained that Amoah occasionally ran errands for Alberta, who was legally married.

Through tears, the Queen Mother recounted the harrowing details of how Amoah allegedly used a knife to kill each of the victims.

“Why would Amoah kill my daughter and my grandchildren in such a cruel way? I’ve suffered deeply because of this. Only God knows the pain I carry,” she said emotionally.

She expressed relief that the suspect was finally arrested after being on the run for months. “I went through great effort to get Amoah’s contact and gave it to the police. I even poured libation and called on the spirits of our ancestors. I am grateful he has been arrested. All I want is justice.”

Nana Sakyibea I also praised the Ghana Police Service and the lead investigator, known as Confidence, for their relentless efforts in tracking down Amoah.

Amoah reportedly fled the crime scene but was later apprehended in Suhum, in the Eastern Region, on September 17, 2025, following police intelligence. During interrogation, he allegedly confessed to the crime but claimed he didn’t know what overcame him at the time.
