The Bursar of the Northern School of Business Senior High School (NOBISCO), Fedelia Kudaariwo, has surrendered to the police following reports that large quantities of food intended for students were allegedly found at her residence.

JoyNews sources reported that nine bags of maize were discovered in the school’s minibus, ready to be removed from the stores, when a team of volunteers intercepted the drivers, Alhassan Sulemana and Osman Asma, on Thursday, October 30.

According to the volunteers, some students had previously hinted that a syndicate was removing food from the school stores at night, prompting them to monitor the situation closely. When the incident occurred, the volunteers intervened and found the vehicle carrying the maize.

The drivers reportedly identified the bursar as the person who allegedly instructed them to transport the items to her home. Acting on this information, the volunteers visited her residence, where more food items were reportedly discovered.

Although the bursar had initially absconded, she later turned herself in to the authorities.

NOBISCO Headmaster, Alhassan Dokurugu, stated that he had left the school around 5 p.m. for other matters and was informed of the incident upon his return. He noted that the security personnel on duty could not provide many details.

Mr. Dokurugu expressed disappointment that while the school management strives to maintain a positive image, some individuals are undermining it. He assured that the school would fully cooperate with the investigation to ensure accountability.
