The Board of Ghana Interbank Payment and Settlement Systems Limited (GhIPSS), a subsidiary of the Bank of Ghana (BoG), has announced the appointment of Mrs. Clara B. Arthur as Chief Executive Officer, effective 1st September 2025.
Mrs. Arthur brings extensive experience in the financial services and technology industries, with a proven track record in leadership, innovation, and driving organizational growth.
Before joining GhIPSS, she held several senior leadership positions at Fidelity Bank Ghana, E Process International S.A (a member of the Ecobank Group), and in private consultancy. In these roles, she led teams delivering technical direction and expert support in IT and payment solutions.
Commenting on the appointment, Dr. Johnson Asiama, Governor of the Bank of Ghana and Chairman of the GhIPSS Board, expressed his confidence in her leadership capabilities.
“We believe Mrs. Arthur will bring fresh insights and a strategic outlook to GhIPSS, guiding the institution through its next phase of development and achievement,” he said.
In her response, Mrs. Arthur described her new role as both a privilege and a homecoming.
“I am deeply honoured to take on this role at such a crucial time. For me, this feels like a return. I look forward to collaborating with the talented team at GhIPSS to build on its legacy. Together, we will drive positive impact, seize emerging opportunities, and shape a future in the payments space that we can all take pride in.”
She takes over from Mr. Archie Hesse, who previously served as CEO of GhIPSS.
