Murder of Woman During Power Outage in Obuasi West

A woman identified as Akosua Atta, popularly known as Anti Atta, has been murdered by an unknown assailant in Abompekrom, located in the Obuasi West Municipality of the Ashanti Region.

The tragic incident is said to have taken place on Sunday evening during a power outage in the town.

According to Frederick Addo, the Assemblyman for the Abompekrom Electoral Area, neighbors heard the victim cry out for help from her residence. They rushed to the scene and found her in her kitchen, bleeding heavily.

She was immediately taken to the AngloGold Ashanti (AGA) Hospital, but sadly, she was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

Her daughter, known only as Sister, expressed deep grief and confusion over the senseless act, saying she cannot understand why anyone would harm her mother.

The deceased’s body has been deposited at the morgue, while the Obuasi Divisional Police Command has launched an investigation into the incident.
