Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo Markin has called on the Parliamentary Majority to allow greater opportunities for the minority to participate in legislative advocacy as the new session begins.

The appeal was made during a leadership media briefing ahead of Parliament’s resumption on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, emphasizing the importance of inclusive parliamentary processes.

“We believe that in this session, the majority should be more accommodating. They must listen to us and allow the minority to engage more in advocacy. We expect the Speaker to admit more of our motions,” Afenyo Markin said.

He noted that last year’s parliamentary session was marked by frustration, as many motions from the minority were frequently declined, restricting their ability to contribute meaningfully to legislative debates.
