Ministry Moves to Resolve Health Salary Arrears

The Ministry of Health has announced that salaries for 321 Pharmacist House Officers who completed their housemanship in 2024 have been successfully processed.

In an official statement, the Ministry described the payment as a major step toward settling long-standing financial obligations within the health sector.

The Ministry also addressed concerns from the 2024 batch of Rotation Nurses and Allied Health Interns, who completed their one-year rotation from May 2024 to May 2025 but have yet to receive their salaries.

The delay, according to the Ministry, stems from the previous administration’s failure to obtain financial clearance before the interns began work.

Officials indicated that efforts are underway, in collaboration with relevant government agencies, to expedite the clearance process and facilitate prompt payment of outstanding salaries.

“This initiative underscores the Ministry’s wider commitment to clearing salary arrears across all health worker groups and ensuring every qualified health professional is adequately supported to provide critical healthcare services to Ghanaians,” the statement said.

The Ministry further assured the affected interns that their concerns are being addressed as a matter of priority, and measures are being put in place to build a more sustainable system to avoid future salary delays.
