Chief Executive Officer of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly, Richard Ofori Agyemang, has announced a cash incentive for Asante Kotoko players ahead of their highly anticipated clash with Hearts of Oak in the 2025 President’s Cup.

The fierce rivalry between Ghana’s two most celebrated football clubs will be reignited on Sunday, July 6, at the Accra Sports Stadium.

During a visit to Asante Kotoko’s training camp, the Kumasi Mayor—joined by Ashanti Regional Minister Frank Amoakohene—encouraged the players with a performance-based reward.

He pledged $200 for each goal scored against Hearts of Oak, up to a maximum of five goals, totaling $1,000.

“We want to see five goals from you. For every goal you score, there’s $200 waiting. We’ll bring the money to the stadium. If you hit five goals, that’s $1,000. Just make sure you defeat Hearts of Oak on Sunday,” Agyemang urged the squad.

President John Dramani Mahama is expected to attend the match, which kicks off at 16:00 GMT.
