The Greens Ghana has proudly received the prestigious EDGE (Excellence in Design for Greater Efficiencies) certification from the International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group. This achievement places The Greens among the first fully EDGE-certified residential communities in Ghana and highlights its leadership in environmentally sustainable real estate development across West Africa.
EDGE is a globally recognized standard for green buildings that measures resource efficiency in energy, water, and materials.
This certification underscores The Greens Ghana’s dedication to sustainable design, construction, and long-term value creation.
Kiran Daswani, CEO of The Greens Ghana, commented, “This certification marks a significant milestone, not just for The Greens, but for Ghana’s real estate industry as a whole. We’re proud to offer homes that prove sustainability and affordability can go hand in hand, demonstrating that responsible building is both beneficial and profitable.”
The Greens Ghana achieves a 20% reduction in energy use through passive solar design and energy-efficient appliances, a 30-40% reduction in water usage with low-flow plumbing and drought-tolerant landscaping, and a smaller carbon footprint by utilizing locally sourced, low-impact building materials.
As ESG investing and climate-conscious development become increasingly important to global and diaspora investors, The Greens is fulfilling the growing demand for high-quality, future-proof housing that is also financially sound.
This certification also supports Ghana’s broader climate resilience objectives and aligns with the global movement toward net-zero development.
The next phase of the project, which is already in progress, will continue to adhere to EDGE standards as The Greens expands to meet the rising demand for housing. By leading the way in sustainable residential real estate, The Greens is generating lasting value for homeowners, institutional investors, and the environment.
