Former MIIF Boss Stopped at Airport

On the night of July 29, 2025, former CEO of the Minerals Income Investment Fund (MIIF), Edward Nana Yaw Koranteng, was prevented from boarding an international flight at Kotoka International Airport.

Mr. Koranteng, currently under investigation by the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) and out on enquiry bail, attempted to leave the country without securing prior written approval from the OSP—a key condition of his bail.

Unaware that he had been placed on a travel watch list—commonly known as a stop list—Mr. Koranteng was intercepted by Ghana Immigration Service officials, who detained him and reported the incident to the OSP.

He has since been handed over to the Special Prosecutor’s office for further action in connection with the ongoing investigation.
