Dr. Kingsley Agyemang to Speak at FALAS 2025

The Federation of African Law Students (FALAS) has named Dr. Kingsley Agyemang, Member of Parliament for Abuakwa South and a member of Ghana’s Parliamentary Select Committee on Health, as one of the keynote speakers at its 5th Annual Continental Conference.

The conference is set to take place from October 19 to 25, 2025, at the African Union Headquarters in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

This year’s theme, “Strengthening African Youth Leadership through Ubuntu for a United and Independent Africa,” will bring together over 250 delegates from 45 African countries. Attendees will include law students, academics, policymakers, and development professionals, gathering to explore issues related to youth leadership, governance, and continental unity.

Dr. Agyemang will deliver a keynote address titled:
“Legislating for Health Justice: Advancing Universal Health Coverage in the Pan-African Context.”
His speech will focus on the role of legal systems in expanding equitable healthcare access and promoting health-centered governance across Africa.

A recognized leader in law, public health, and policy, Dr. Agyemang has earned acclaim for his innovative approaches to education and healthcare. As Registrar of the Ghana Scholarships Secretariat, he pioneered a decentralized scholarship program that widened access to education for thousands of students, especially from marginalized communities.

His collaborative work with institutions such as Brunel Global Public Health Academy, Aston University, KNUST, GIMPA, and Garden City University reflects his dedication to integrating health and education policy into broader national development agendas.

At the Addis Ababa event, Dr. Agyemang will join an esteemed panel of speakers, including:

FALAS International President Mr. Seyram K. Seyram welcomed Dr. Agyemang’s participation, stating:

Now in its fifth year, the FALAS Continental Conference is one of Africa’s leading youth-led platforms for shaping future policy and leadership. The 2025 edition is organized in collaboration with the African Union’s Women, Gender and Youth Directorate (AU-WGYD) and is expected to produce actionable recommendations for advancing ethical governance, sustainable development, and meaningful youth engagement across the continent.

With its high-level speaker lineup and forward-looking agenda, the conference is set to spark critical conversations and foster collaboration among Africa’s next generation of legal minds and leaders.
