- Officially confirmed by Guinness World Records
Azoumaro Vanessa Salese, a former third-year Social Work student at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), has officially been recognized by Guinness World Records for completing the longest video game marathon.
Vanessa set the record by playing Ghost of Tsushima continuously for 56 hours, 30 minutes, and 43 seconds—exceeding her initial 48-hour goal during the attempt held in July. Her achievement has now been officially verified, making her the first person to hold the record for the longest video game marathon in the Ghost of Tsushima category.
The event, held at Republic Hall’s Common Area on the KNUST campus, drew strong support from friends and a monitoring team who ensured all Guinness guidelines were strictly followed throughout the session.
Vanessa’s accomplishment not only showcases her mental and physical endurance but also serves as a proud moment for both KNUST and Ghana’s growing gaming community.
She expressed appreciation to her supporters and hinted at upcoming initiatives aimed at encouraging youth to channel their passion for gaming into meaningful, goal-oriented ventures.
