Gospel singer Rev. Obaapa Christy has shared her views on education, revealing that she has no intention of returning to the traditional classroom setting.
Speaking in an interview on Hitz FM, she responded to public opinion that some Ghanaian gospel musicians, including herself, struggle with English fluency.
She openly admitted to not having a strong academic background but emphasized that her work in ministry is guided by spiritual depth rather than linguistic proficiency.
“For me, it’s not about speaking flawless English. I may not be fluent, but I have the Holy Spirit. He gives me the inspiration for my songs—and that’s what truly matters,” she said.
While expressing a willingness to continue learning, Obaapa Christy explained she would prefer private lessons over attending a school.
“At this point in my life, I’d choose to learn at home with a tutor,” she said, adding that the choice is based on practicality and comfort, not arrogance.
