Man in Court for Allegedly Slashing Girlfriend and Daughter
- Car sprayer in court for knife attack
- Accused slashed girlfriend, daughter
- Bail granted, case referred to ADR
A 51-year-old car sprayer, Daniel Anum Komey, has appeared before an Accra Circuit Court, charged with two counts of causing harm. Komey pleaded not guilty to the charges.
According to the prosecution, led by Detective Chief Inspector Opoku Aniagyei, Komey allegedly slashed his girlfriend, Charity Agbotsi, and their four-year-old daughter, Wren Naa Ayeley Komey, with a knife after a misunderstanding.
The court heard that Charity had informed Komey of her decision to end their 14-year relationship, which led to the altercation. On November 28, 2024, Komey allegedly visited Charity at her friend’s house, threatened to kill her, and stabbed her indiscriminately.
Wren Naa Ayeley Komey, who attempted to stop her father, was also stabbed on the right hand. Both victims sustained injuries and were rushed to the hospital for treatment.
The court, presided over by Mrs. Christina Cann, admitted Komey to bail in the sum of GHC50,000 with two sureties. The case has been referred to the Court Connected Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) and is scheduled to resume on January 27, 2025.
