CAF Announces Date for 2025 Africa Cup of Nations Draw

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has officially confirmed the date for the much-anticipated draw for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON). Following a meeting of the CAF Executive Office in Marrakech on Monday, December 16, it was revealed that the draw will take place on January 27, 2025, in Rabat, Morocco.

The announcement follows the completion of the AFCON qualifiers in November 2025, with 24 teams securing their places in the tournament.

The 2025 edition of AFCON will kick off on December 21, 2025, with the opening match, and will conclude on January 18, 2026, with the final.

In addition to the AFCON announcement, CAF also confirmed the schedules for several major youth tournaments. The U17 Africa Cup of Nations will be held in Morocco in 2025 and 2026, while the U20 edition will take place in Ivory Coast in 2025.

The governing body also revealed the dates for other key CAF competitions, including the finals for the CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup, both of which are set to take place in May and June 2025.
