Ghanaian actor Prince David Osei has publicly criticized former President John Dramani Mahama’s decision to run for presidency again. In a recent post on X, Osei listed Mahama’s extensive political career, questioning his motivations for seeking the presidency for a second time.
Osei’s post highlighted Mahama’s various leadership positions, including “MP for 12 yrs, Deputy Minister -4yrs, Minister -4 yrs, Vice President -4 yrs President – 4 yrs, Former President – 8yrs.” He then emphasized, “Still former President Mahama want to be President again. The greediness of some African Leaders must never be encouraged.”
In contrast, Osei expressed his support for Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), urging his followers to “Vote for New Person, Let’s vote for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia #1.” As a staunch NPP member, Osei believes his party has the best policies for the nation.
Osei is not alone in his endorsement of Dr. Bawumia, as several showbiz personalities have also pledged their support ahead of the December 7 election.
