Renowned Ghanaian reggae/dancehall artist Shatta Wale has cautioned rising star Black Sherif against negative criticism and disrespect.
During a spaces dialogue on X (formerly Twitter) on Monday, November 4, 2024, Shatta Wale expressed displeasure over Black Sherif’s recent Snapchat post. The post featured a photo of Shatta Wale with a comment on his dressing style.
Shatta Wale advised Black Sherif, known for hits like “Kilos Milos” and “Kweku The Traveller,” to tread carefully when addressing him in the music industry. He warned that any disrespect would prompt swift action, potentially ending Black Sherif’s career.
“Black Sherif, you are new in the music industry. If you’ve heard them say I have said something about you, you won’t go and watch the podcast to know the good things I said about you,” Shatta Wale stated.
“Blacko, this is the same thing Sarkodie did; now people think he is my enemy. Go and ask; I can end careers, and if you don’t take care, I will end yours,” he added.
The warning comes after Shatta Wale expressed dissatisfaction with Black Sherif’s style of dressing on the Bant, Rants and Confessions podcast hosted by Efia Odo on October 31, 2024. Black Sherif responded with a Snapchat post, which seemingly sparked Shatta Wale’s ire.
Online reactions have been mixed, with some supporting Shatta Wale’s stance while others criticize his approach.
