Multiple award-winning Ghanaian gospel artist Piesie Esther has recently reflected on her changing perspective regarding social media, recognizing its significant role in enhancing her ministry.
Initially, the 2023 VGMA Gospel Artiste of the Year viewed social media through a critical lens, associating it with “Maame Water,” a term in Ghanaian culture that carries negative connotations. However, during an appearance on Adom TV’s Showtym hosted by Sally Mann, Piesie Esther expressed her newfound appreciation for these platforms.
“When you take a look at things now, things have changed. Things are not the same as they used to be. Myself, initially, I thought social media was for ‘Maame Water,’ but I later realised it’s a good platform that has become a part of us as humans and can actually support my ministry,” she stated. Her evolving view highlights the necessity of adapting to contemporary tools to expand her reach and advance her spiritual mission.
Utilizing social media platforms like Instagram and Facebook, the ‘Mo’ hitmaker now engages with her followers, spreading positivity and inspiration through her music. By embracing these digital platforms, she is dedicated to using her voice to connect with souls and foster a supportive community.
