Takoradi Man Kills Gay Partner Over Payment Dispute

Bernard Kojo Ankrah has been taken into police custody for allegedly murdering his partner, Jones Carlos Rodrigues Da Silva.

According to Ankrah, the two had been in a romantic relationship and regularly met in Accra. However, their encounter turned deadly on October 12, 2024, at Rodrigues Da Silva’s Takoradi residence.

Ankrah claims they agreed on a payment of GHS 30,000 for their sexual encounter, but Rodrigues Da Silva allegedly reneged on the deal, offering only GHS 20,000. This sparked a heated confrontation.

“A scuffle ensued when Rodrigues Da Silva threatened me with a knife,” Ankrah alleged. “I overpowered him, resulting in his death.”

Following the incident, Ankrah fled with the deceased’s mobile phone and vehicle. Police were alerted and tracked him down, arresting him on October 17, 2024.

Ankrah was arraigned before the Takoradi District Court on October 21, 2024, and has been remanded in police custody by Her Worship Catherine Obiri Addo.
